Band

What's happening: The Ramsey High School Jazz Band performed at the NJAJE Division 3 State Finals on Saturday, April 27 after advancing from the preliminary round in March. Hosted at Metuchen High School, the band played one of its best performances of the year, having shown immense growth.

Why it matters: The success of the RHS Jazz Band reflects positively on the school and the community as a whole. It generates a sense of pride and unity among students, teachers, parents, and supporters who have been involved in nurturing and supporting our arts programs. Celebrating their achievements reinforces the value of arts education and the importance of supporting extracurricular activities in schools.

One fun thing: In addition to their planned performance, the musicians went to a separate room to sight read or play a piece of music that they have never seen before.

Big impact: In addition to being recognized as one of the top jazz bands in the state of New Jersey, Simon Jiang received an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Soloist! 🎉
