Hubbard and Tisdale Schools were recognized with Bronze and Silver awards, respectively, as winners of the NJ Safe Routes Recognition Program, sponsored by EZ Ride and the NJ Department of Transportation.

  • Why it matters: The Safe Routes to School program was created to encourage children, including those with disabilities, to walk and bike to school.  The goal is to make bicycling and walking to school a safer and more appealing transportation alternative.

The NJ Safe Routes Recognition Program is part of the Sustainable Jersey program. Municipalities and schools can earn points toward Sustainable Jersey and Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification.
