Go Deeper:
Throughout the month during library classes, we will also be celebrating the works of various new and diverse authors with messages related to tolerance, diversity, adversity, kindness, triumph, empathy and acceptance and always make sure that the books we read aloud to our students serve as both windows and mirrors: A mirror is a story that reflects your own life and helps you build your identity. A window is a resource that offers you a view into someone else’s experience. It is critical to understand that students cannot truly learn about themselves unless they learn about others as well.
