Pi Day

Hubbard School celebrates Pi Day with a Math Day

Thursday, March 14th

Why it matters:

In an effort to remove mental obstacles to feeling successful in math, we work to teach children about math conceptually rather than in a process-driven manner. This supports students in building an understanding of the relevance of math in their lives and helps more students feel successful in math. There is no such thing as not being a “math person” and we are aiming to end that myth through play on the Math Day in honor of Pi Day (3.14!)

The details:

Children are invited to bring in board games that encourage math through using dice, cards, strategy and problem solving skills for an afternoon of math inspired play! Wear a shirt with a number on it too!
