At Hubbard School, students came together this week to celebrate and learn about inclusion in a powerful and creative way. The event was designed to promote understanding, kindness, and the importance of embracing diversity in our school community.

Mrs. Linzenbold, our school principal, helped kick off the event by reading Say Something by Peter H. Reynolds to the students. The book’s message of using our voices to stand up for others and create positive change resonated deeply with the children. By introducing the concept of inclusion in such an engaging way, Mrs. Linzenbold set the tone for the day, inspiring students to think about how their actions and words can foster a more inclusive environment.

In collaboration with Mrs. Linzenbold, Ms. Megna, our talented art teacher, led students through a creative art project where each child from preschool to third, drew or wrote about what inclusion means to them. The individual pieces were then combined to create a larger, collaborative artwork in the shape of a puzzle, symbolizing how each unique individual contributes to the strength and unity of the entire community. This hands-on project helped students reflect on inclusion in a meaningful way, teaching them that our differences can create something beautiful when we come together.

This celebration of inclusion was not just about learning the importance of acceptance; it was about empowering each student to actively contribute to a culture of kindness and respect. Through art, literature, and thoughtful reflection, Hubbard School students left this event with a renewed sense of what it means to include everyone in their community.

By embracing diversity and practicing inclusion, students are not only building a more positive school environment—they are laying the foundation for a more inclusive world. This serves as a beautiful reminder of how each student's unique voice and perspective adds something special to the collective story of Hubbard School and that Hubbard is truly home. 💙💛🐏
