On February 5, 2025, Hubbard School participated in World Read Aloud Day, a global event organized by LitWorld to celebrate the transformative power of reading aloud. Our school community gathered to honor the joy of storytelling and emphasize the importance of literacy.
Students across all grade levels engaged in exciting reading activities, from classroom read-alouds to older siblings visiting younger grades to share their favorite books. Mrs. Linzenbold also hosted a special read-aloud in the gym for our pre-K through third-grade students, creating a magical atmosphere where everyone could come together and experience the power of storytelling. The energy in each classroom—and in the gym—was palpable as students connected with one another through shared literature and powerful words.
Why it Matters:
Reading aloud is an essential part of building literacy skills, enhancing comprehension, and fostering a love for learning. It allows students to connect emotionally with stories while building empathy and understanding. On World Read Aloud Day, we celebrated the magic that happens when we share stories and words, uniting our students and staff through shared experiences.
Let’s continue to foster a love for reading at Hubbard, one story at a time!
