Music Program Growth

The following data on Ramsey School District music programs gives us great reason to be proud of the efforts of our staff and students, and truly excited about the future! ๐ŸŽ‰

  • Why it matters: These impressive achievements demonstrate our success and potential for future growth despite facing some of the programโ€™s biggest challenges ever due to the COVID pandemic, among other factors.

By the numbers: Take a look at this noteworthy growth. Weโ€™re moving in the right direction, Ramsey!

  • Grades 6-12 chorus enrollment increased by 50 students between 22-23 and 23-24

  • Highest ever 8th to 9th grade chorus retention numbers....nearly double the historical average!

  • More students joined the Dater Chorus in 22-23 than in any year since before COVID.

  • Total band enrollment has increased by 22% since COVID restrictions ended. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

  • Band enrollment at Dater, Smith, and RHS have all rebounded at or above historical averages.

  • The current 8th grade band has MORE students in it this year than it did in 6th grade!

The bottom line: While enrollment cannot tell the whole story, it does indicate that students are getting a quality music experience and want to be in our classes. Students would not join our elective programs if they were not instilled with a love of music in their early years. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’›
