What's happening: Smith Middle School continues to build relationships by bridging Wandell School and Ramsey Public Schools together. On January 26th, Dr. Esdale visited students and parents in the first of several steps to help onboard Fifth Grade students to the Smith Middle School experience.
The big picture: Dr. Esdale’s presentation provides valuable information to help students transition smoothly into the new environment, understand expectations, and feel more comfortable in their new school. In addition, Dr. Esdale discussed school policies, rules, and resources, which can help students adapt and succeed academically and socially.
Why it matters:
Bridging the two schools creates a sense of belonging and community among students, parents, and staff, which can contribute to a positive school culture and overall student well-being.
Celebrating the transition from Grade 5 to Grade 6 which is a momentous occasion in a students academic career.
Explaining how the Team Structure works and what exploratory programs are offered to all of our students.
What's next:
Fifth Grade students from Wandell and Dater will visit Smith Middle School on February 14th for an introduction to Performing Arts and World Language programs.
