What's happening: Dater School welcomed New York Times Best Selling Author, Lauren Tarshis, for an exciting author visit for 4th and 5th grade students. Ms Tarshis is well known for her I Survived series, which tells the stories of young people and their resilience and strength in the midst of unimaginable disasters and times of turmoil.
Her presentations were fascinating and captivating, teaching the students and staff about powerful life lessons, including not needing “a gift" of writing to become a published author. She also spoke to students about the importance of believing in yourself, and persevering through challenges, such as overcoming and navigating a learning disability, dealing with rejection, and conquering self doubt.
What’s next: Ms. Tarshis’ latest book will become available to the public in November.
