The first Friday of the month is always so special at Hubbard. Nothing is better than coming together as a community where our Rams RISE with Respect, Independence, Self Control, and Empathy. 😎

The last day of our Winter Clothing Drive is Monday! 🧥🧤 Thank you to all who have donated and supported this effort — your generosity helps keep our community warm. 💙💛

Check out some of these smiling faces that make Hubbard feel like home. 💙💛 Our students, staff, and families are what bring the heart to Hubbard School each and every day. ✨Bright spots✨ are everywhere at Hubbard, and these moments remind us why our community shines so brightly together.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students in art with Ms. Megna are learning about the life and work of Frida Kahlo 🎨. Through her bold self portraits and powerful use of color, Kahlo showed the world how art can express identity, culture, and emotion. Inspired by her legacy, our students are creating their own art that honors creativity and self expression while deepening their appreciation of Hispanic heritage.

The first Wednesday of October is celebrated nationwide as National Walk to School Day. It is part of the larger Walk to School Wednesday program that encourages safe routes, active lifestyles, and the joy of starting the day with movement. Step by step, our community shines.
A huge thank you to the Ramsey Police Department for keeping our walkers safe and to ShopRite for providing apples for everyone to enjoy at the finish. Thank you to Ms. G for leading, to all the teachers who participated, and to the families who helped make today a walking success.

🌍 In Mrs. Finnegan’s class, students expand their horizons each day by learning a new word in Chinese from a native speaking classmate. This daily routine is more than just building vocabulary, it reminds us that everyone has something to teach and something to learn. By sharing language, students grow in curiosity, empathy, and cultural awareness, strengthening not only their knowledge but also their connections with one another. ✨📖

As a reminder, schools are closed tomorrow in recognition of Yom Kippur.

Morning Meeting in Mrs. Murphy’s second grade class was all about collaboration and problem solving. 🌟 Students worked together to complete a puzzle, using their communication and critical thinking skills along the way. Morning Meeting is such an important part of the day because it builds community, strengthens relationships, and gives students a meaningful start to their learning. 💙💛

🚶♂️🚶♀️ Reminder: Join our walking school bus as Hubbard students and staff walk to school in recognition of International Walk to School Day! Meet us at the Ramsey Library parking lot at 8:15 am and walk with us to Hubbard School. Parents are encouraged to join too! 💙💛

We are thrilled to share the joyful growth of our new Hubbard Community Garden, a collaboration between our Preschoolers and Third Graders. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy of curiosity and wonder, the garden is more than just a space for plants. It is a living expression of creativity, cooperation, and care.
As students planted side by side, they nurtured responsibility, independence, empathy, and respect which are core elements of RAMS RISE and the Profile of a Ramsey Graduate competencies. This garden also reflects the strength of our Hubbard community with families, staff, and students working together to grow something truly special. 💙💛
Character, curiosity, and community all growing together. 🌱

In 2 Finnegan, a simple act of kindness spoke volumes 💙 One student helped a classmate tie their shoelaces, showing empathy, responsibility, and friendship in action.

Students in music with Miss McDonald were fully engaged as they reviewed prior knowledge and built on new learning 🎶✨ Music is such an important part of elementary education, helping students strengthen memory, focus, creativity, and confidence while expressing themselves with joy.

🧮 When first graders use hands-on math activities they build a deeper understanding of concepts, spark curiosity, and make learning fun! 🙌

Writers are hard at work in 1-Chanatski ✏️📚 Students are building their stamina and confidence, and the power of the teacher share is helping them learn from one another. Writing grows stronger when we celebrate student voices and practice together!

First graders in Miss Beatty’s class have been experimenting with math manipulatives and creating some amazing designs and structures. These hands on explorations are more than just fun, they are an important part of the CPA model (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) which helps students build a strong foundation in problem solving and number sense. Starting with manipulatives allows children to truly understand math concepts before moving on to pictures and symbols.

Hubbard School has character! 🫶🏻This preschooler in Mrs. Dumont's class showed empathy by comforting a friend who was not feeling well, rubbing his back and checking in with care. When his friend returned to school after being sick, he asked if he was feeling better. A beautiful example of empathy in action!

Only 16 days into first grade and Mrs. Spaccavento is already amazed by her students’ hard work and stamina! 📚✨ They are diligently practicing their alphabet sounds and growing their sight word vocabulary each day.

Hubbard PTO Meeting - 9:15am Tomorrow!

Check out these third graders in Mrs. Frank's class spending time in the library with Mrs. Lakind 📚✨ Exploring books, sharing stories, and growing as readers is such a wonderful way to build a love of reading 💙💛

Sharing our warmest wishes to all of our students, families, and staff who are celebrating Rosh Hashanah. May the new year be filled with health, happiness, and sweet moments. Shana Tova! 🍎🍯
