Ramsey honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of education, equality, and nonviolent change.
"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Dr. King

As a reminder schools are closed Monday, January 20th in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr Day.

HU 3rd graders learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and drew inspiration from his speech, thinking about their own dreams for making the world a better place. Answers like "Love everyone for who they are" reflect not only his powerful message but also this month’s character trait of acceptance. Simple but powerful responses like "Sharing smiles" remind us that small steps can lead to big changes in our communities!

A spectacular way to end the Friday with special visits from the therapy dogs! Our students were filled with joy and warmth, making it a truly memorable day.

You can always count on Mrs. Frank for an engaging read-aloud! This time, students are diving into stories about different cultures, learning about the rich diversity of traditions and experiences from around the world. A great way to spark curiosity and empathy in our young learners.

Students in 3-Jordan are immersed in researching other cultures while creating presentations that thoughtfully consider their audience. This project encourages them to not only explore the diverse customs, traditions, and histories of different cultures but also to communicate their findings in a way that engages and informs others. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to develop both their research and presentation skills!

Therapy dogs visited Hubbard School, and preschool to third-grade students were filled with joy, excitement, and lots of smiles! These furry friends brought a sense of calm and comfort to our school, and it was a heartwarming experience for everyone. A big thank you to the therapy dogs and their handlers for spreading happiness and positivity throughout our halls! 🐶 🐾

Third graders are actively exploring the concept of perimeter through hands-on measurement activities. By measuring objects around the room and calculating the perimeter of irregular shapes, students are developing their spatial awareness and applying mathematical reasoning to real-world contexts. This activity fosters critical thinking and strengthens their understanding of geometric concepts and measurement strategies.

Third graders participated in a grand conversation after reading Watercress by Andrea Wang. This is an important activity because it allows students to engage deeply with the text, discuss themes like family, culture, and gratitude, and practice critical thinking skills. By sharing their thoughts, students also develop communication skills, learn to listen to others’ perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the story and its message.

Word problems in 2nd grade are a breeze when your teacher introduces the "Break Apart" strategy! This method helps students split numbers into smaller, manageable parts, making problem-solving easier and more fun.

Students in 2-Finnegan are embodying the competencies of a Profile of a Ramsey Graduate—and they’re doing it in math! By reflecting on their learning, thinking about their strengths, areas for growth, and favorite parts of math, they’re developing self-awareness and taking ownership of their growth as mathematicians. It’s inspiring to see such thoughtful reflection at a young age.
