Wizards

What's happening: Ramsey School District was thrilled to welcome back the Harlem Wizards in conjunction with LEAD, bringing action-packed entertainment to all in attendance. Just under 1,000 basketball fans attended with teachers from Hubbard, Tisdale and Smith all participating alongside Ramsey Travel Basketball Association (RTBA), Ramsey police officers and parents.

Big impact: The Harlem Wizards basketball program offers a unique blend of entertainment and education, making it both fun and enriching for audiences of all ages. The Wizards frequently address important social issues such as bullying prevention and diversity awareness during their performances. Through skits, role-playing, and discussions, they educate audiences about the importance of acceptance, empathy, and standing up against discrimination.

One fun Event:

  • Three 6th graders from The Academy of St. Paul sang the National Anthem.

  • The Dater Pep Band followed up with music during halftime.

  • Ramsey kids joined the Wizards on the court both before and after as they shared some of their special brand of tricks, hoops and alley-oops with the Ramsey Community.
