On June 11, 2024, there was a beautiful ceremony outside Dater School to dedicate a Magnolia Tree, bench, and plaque in memory of Frankie Reganato. Various speakers spoke about the impact that Frankie had on the students, families, and teachers at Dater.

Why it matters: Frankie Reganato was a lifelong Ram taken from us too soon. She graduated from RHS in 2000 and taught at Dater from 2015 to 2021.

Dr. Matteo hired Frankie at Dater School back in 2015 and had the honor of saying some words at yesterday’s ceremony. Below is a small excerpt:

Everyone liked her.  But to leave it at that would be to do Frankie an injustice.  Frankie was a likable teacher for sure.  But she was also a truly magnificent teacher. What I think that gets lost in education, and in Ramsey where we have so many good teachers, is that there are levels of teachers.  Not all are created equal or put the same amount of time and effort into their craft.  Frankie was exceptional.

A few years later, when she got sick for the second time and Ramsey rallied around her and her family, she reached out to me to thank me for bringing her back to Ramsey which she believed allowed the support to happen.  But it was me, and it is us, who should thank Frankie for coming back to Ramsey.  She made us better.  So I think this is wonderful tribute to honor her too brief but impactful time at Dater and in Ramsey.  I hope we remember her as a daughter of Ramsey, a beloved friend, and also an exceptionally skilled teacher - that is what she deserves. -Dr. Andrew C.
