Lola

What's happening: Ramsey Senior Lola Callahan-Santos is a member of Ramsey Rescue, RHS Band, Drama Club Stage Crew, a future Bergen County Firefighter, and the creator of an impressive custom bass guitar that earned her high praise and an "Exceed" rating on her Defense of Learning project.

Why it matters: Lola’s project is a standout example of what the Profile Project is all about—allowing students to explore personal interests and apply the Profile of a Ramsey Graduate competencies, such as communication, critical thinking, creativity and self-direction.

🎸With the help of her neighbor, Brian Peters, and RHS grad Warren Trent, Lola built a gorgeous, functional bass guitar from olive wood, accented with neon pigments.
🎸Lola exemplified what it means to be self-directed, which is why she thrived in the Summer Option Profile Project, a path available only to students with a clear idea of their project goals.

The big picture: Lola plans to attend the University of New England to study Marine Biology, her project highlights how the Profile Project allows students to challenge themselves creatively and academically, preparing them for success beyond high school.

What's next: Mrs. Holly Falcone, Supervisor of Science and Profile Projects, will announce next summer’s application process in Spring 2025. Introduced with the Class of 2024, the Summer Profile option has had limited spots, with just 10 students participating in 2023 and 12 students in 2024.
