Tisdale Inclusion

What's happening: A heartwarming scene unfolded in a Tisdale first grade classroom as Angus, a student with Down Syndrome, demonstrated the power of assistive technology and inclusive education. Using his communication device, Angus not only shared his story but also revealed how he helps fellow students with spelling and other classroom activities.

The presentation was enhanced by Erin, a Best Buddy and STEP teacher assistant, whose natural rapport with Angus helped engage the young audience. Erin, who plans to pursue education at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), exemplified the kind of dedicated teaching spirit she aims to bring to her future classroom.

Ms. Cedola's class demonstrated exemplary behavior throughout the presentation, while ongoing efforts to create an welcoming environment for all students received special recognition.

This collaborative effort highlighted how assistive technology, supportive partnerships, and an inclusive classroom environment can create meaningful learning experiences for all students.
