Black History Month honors the enduring contributions and profound impact of African Americans throughout history, from the past to the present day. During this month, Ramsey School District joins the nation in celebration, embracing the opportunity to explore, honor, and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of Black Americans who have shaped our nation’s story.

📜 The History: Honoring Black History Month is a chance to celebrate the groundbreaking achievements and enduring contributions of Black Americans across all aspects of society—arts, science, politics, sports, and more. It’s also an important reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice.

  • During their time in Ramsey Schools, students learn how Black Americans have influenced and enriched American society throughout the nation’s history. Through this study, and the development of civic skills, students are equipped to recognize injustice, promote equality, and embody the values of freedom, liberty, respect for individual rights, and justice for all.
