What's happening: Last Wednesday, 6th graders participated in a special K-9 dog presentation conducted by the Ramsey Police Department. The demonstration provided a unique learning opportunity connected to the students' journalism unit.
Go deeper: The young journalists brought their English notebooks to the outdoor session, where they practiced crucial interview and note-taking skills. These techniques allowed them to gather research for articles they were writing as part of their curriculum. In addition, the demonstration gave students ample time to observe and document the K-9 unit's capabilities.
✍ The bottom line: The reporting opportunity exemplified Ramsey's commitment to providing authentic learning experiences that bring classroom concepts to life through real-world applications.
👏 Special Thanks to Ms. Murphy and Ms. Mahoney for organizing this special event and to the Ramsey Police Department for providing such a fantastic experience for our students!
