Giving Kindness for the Hollidays: Students in 5Gesualdo/Thomson collected donations for Lasagna Love, a non-profit organization that helps families experiencing food insecurity in Bergen and Rockland Counties.

This week, students prepare for our Winter Wonderland Concert! Each day, we will rehearse a as full grade level to coordinate the songs we've learned in class. 5 Modesto/Azouri and 5 Gesualdo/Thomson explored text features in various Scholastic magazines. They also created their own text feature maps! 📚
Happy Computer Science Education Week! In ITC, 4th and 5th graders are learning the basics of coding and computer science. To celebrate the week, they participated in the Hour of Code. 👩💻 🧑💻 Code.org has courses available in over 50 languages, making it accessible to all of our students! Over the next few weeks, students will grow their knowledge and passion more through the use of Ozobots, mini coding robots.

The readers of 4Guarnieri had a blast this week as they explored different character traits! Through collaborative activities, they learned to identify positive and negative traits. They then discussed how emotions are linked to traits, and how feelings can influence behavior, connecting this to our social-emotional learning program, RULER. The students also made personal connections to the traits of characters in the texts, reflecting on how these traits relate to their own lives. Throughout this, we emphasized the importance of developing positive traits, as part of our Profile of a Ramsey Graduate! I am so proud of these learners!
The Dater School Winter Wonderland Concert will take place on Thursday, December 19th in the Dater gym. Fourth Grade concert at 9:15am, and Fifth Grade at 10:15am.
