Making Claims, Finding Proof - O'Hern Students Think Like Scientists!

As teachers, we consistently look for new resources and learning opportunities for our classroom! After a recent trip to the National Gallery of Art, I'm excited to add these inspirations to my drawing center! Additionally, I'm super excited to read this new art book to my students, as they create...inspiring literature and art go hand in hand!

Artists at Dater were inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's sunflowers, to sketch their own vibrant sunflowers in chalk! What an exciting way to complete their expressive sunflower sculpture unit in art!

Dater Back to School Night starts with brave parents attempting The Impossible Shot!

On Patriot Day, Ramsey pauses to remember the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Dater School celebrated the end of the first week of school with a school-wide Team Building Day! Students practiced communication and collaboration to strengthen their classroom communities. Thank you to Dater's Dean of Students, Mrs. Hicks, for a fun-filled day!

5GT and friends had a great 1st week!

Wednesday’s all-school morning meeting brought big excitement at Dater School, as the theme for this year’s fall musical was revealed: Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. Students cheered as their teachers appeared in costume as Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula, and Sebastian—giving everyone a sneak peek of the fun to come!

Registration is now open for students who wish to participate. Student permission slips are due back Monday, 9/8 for Tuesday’s interest meeting on the 9th from 3:00 - 3:45 . Parents are invited to a Zoom information session that evening at 7pm. Visit the musical website or email Mr. Bogert to learn more.

What a great way to bring 5th grade to an end... things CHANGE when people take action. Students consider unfair treatment as they reflected on how barriers can be removed when people change the way they think.
