Third graders are actively exploring the concept of perimeter through hands-on measurement activities. By measuring objects around the room and calculating the perimeter of irregular shapes, students are developing their spatial awareness and applying mathematical reasoning to real-world contexts. This activity fosters critical thinking and strengthens their understanding of geometric concepts and measurement strategies.

Third graders participated in a grand conversation after reading Watercress by Andrea Wang. This is an important activity because it allows students to engage deeply with the text, discuss themes like family, culture, and gratitude, and practice critical thinking skills. By sharing their thoughts, students also develop communication skills, learn to listen to othersβ perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the story and its message.
