Our incredible Dater teachers are excited to welcome parents and guardians into Dater School for Back to School Night, tonight! Doors open at 6:45pm for our 7pm opening presentation in the gym. See you soon!

Thankfully the weather held out, and it was all sun and smiles at Dater for Picture Day! 📸😁

Fifth grade math students were challenged to "build a monster" after correctly answering an Order of Operations expression. This new math skill came to life as they used Play-Doh to sculpt their creatures, making math hands-on and fun! Mrs. Thompson couldn't stop smiling as her students eagerly crafted creative monsters while reinforcing their learning. Who knew math could be this much fun? 🎨📚

5th graders in Mrs. Hedden's homeroom worked together to play a giant game of Scrabble! They used teamwork in order to use all of the letters.

4Chaparro/Ramsden students at Dater are excellent mathematicians! Check out how they can use their knowledge of factors to help create arrays for a given number.

New to Dater this year: 4th and 5th grade BUDDY homerooms! When 4Horton and 5Hedden came together for a morning of free playtime, friendships began to blossom. As the students mingled, their laughter filled the air, turning ordinary games into memorable experiences. They can't wait to meet up with their buddy class again sometime soon!

Dater's 5Modesto/Azouri has been talking about 9/11 all week. They each colored a part of the American flag and put it all together to make one big flag in remembrance of 9/11.

This morning, Dater had their first ever schoolwide morning meeting. It was a huge success! These meetings will take place every Wednesday, first thing in the morning. This year, we hope to grow as individuals, and together as a school. We are stronger together. 💪

Today, we pause to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001.
Our approach to students' awareness of the significance of this day in American history will vary by developmental level. As a school community, we honor and remember the victims and heroes of 9/11, together.

Ramsey has a rich tradition in musical education and programs. Big Blue has been recognized over the decades for its excellence. Over the past decade, the choral program has grown and earned its fair share of accolades. This past year, we made a conscious effort to invest in theater education by introducing a theater program at the middle school for the first time.

So much learning has already started at Dater! Check out these 4th grade scientists 🧑🔬 👩🔬 who are learning how to keep an organized interactive notebook, and how to detect unsafe lab behaviors.

Thanks to a 5th grader's very persuasive email to Mrs. Glebocki, Dater Students participated in a "Spirit Day Opportunity" on Friday. 4th and 5th grade each had an outdoor picnic lunch on the blacktop, followed by recess with the whole grade. The students had a blast!

The show for this year's Dater Musical is "Dear Edwina Jr." The story follows Edwina Spoonapple as she directs the neighborhood kids in a series of musical numbers that teach them various lessons, like making new friends and trying new foods, all with the hopes of landing a spot in the Kalamazoo “Advice-a-Palooza” festival. The musical is an after school activity; all students are welcome to join. Please check out the musical website for more information: https://sites.google.com/ramsey.k12.nj.us/datermusical Registration is open now! Permission slips come home in backpacks today!

We had a great first week at Dater School. Our fourth and fifth graders were excited to see their classmates and teachers, play on the new playground, and have their first Spirit Day of the Year. #TheDaterExperience Go Rams!

Dater's first Spirit Assembly was AMAZING!! Principal, Mrs. Glebocki, spoke about the importance of having INTEGRITY. The teachers read the students a book about being a leader, enjoying the journey- filled with its stumbles and missteps, and persevering when things get tough. It ended with "The Impossible Shot." If you see a Dater student today, ask them all about it!

Dater Students: Don't forget to wear blue and gold tomorrow (Friday, 9/6) for our first SPIRIT ASSEMBLY of the year! 🐏

The new Dater state-of-the-art playground 🛝 is a HUGE hit with the students! Check out those smiles! 😀

Dater students report that the new school lunches are very good this year! 🍎🍊🥦🍔🍕

Dater 5th Graders are giving fist bumps 👊, high fives, and welcoming smiles 😀to start the day. Class meetings are off to an amazing start!
