
4Guarnieri had a blast learning about how to identify the main idea, and supporting details of a text, particularly with Halloween-themed topics! These eager learners collaborated by sharing their thoughts, and then had the chance to independently apply the skill within their own texts. I am so proud of their progress!




(Part 2) The rest of the 4th grade (4O'Hern, 4Horton, 4Kirch/McLaud, and 4Chaparro/Ramsden) went on their field trip to the roller rink today. Not only did the field trip teach the students about STEM, but it also encouraged risk-taking, resiliency, and perseverance. 🛼🎉

(Part 1) 4Davidson, 4O'Rourke, 4Groenveld, and 4Guarnieri went on a field trip to the roller rink to experience all of their STEM learning in action. They learned about force and friction, and had a blast while doing it! 🛼🎉 The day even ended with a dance party!











Students in 5Modesto/Azouri & 5Gesualdo/Thomson are bringing their class read aloud, Esperanza Rising, to life by learning how to crochet. 🧶 Students are learning from the secondary character, Abuelita, about how it is okay to start over and pull your work!





The first day of Dater recess groups in ITC was so much fun! Students made new friends while eating lunch, participating in Makerspace activities, and playing games.




The Dater Band has kicked off recess practice, and it has become an instant success. It's a great place for students to learn and collaborate with each other on their instruments. 🎷🎺🎹🪇

It's Binary Code BONANZA week in Ms. Doherty's fourth grade GATE class. Students work to write messages in binary code and then code break!!




When our students become our teachers! Students in 4G were a model for visiting literacy leaders from across districts. Ms. Guanieri's Ss allowed us to study practice and how our practices affect student outcomes. Incredible day!



Students in 4Kirch/McLaud and 4Chaparro/Ramsden learned all about the distributive property through a new math game called Small Array/Big Array. This game helps students to see how they can break larger multiplication problems into 2 or 3 smaller ones to solve.








Ms. Doherty's book club cozies up with a good book on pajama day! Exploring new vocabulary and reading with voice!



No Cornhole boards? No problem! 4O'Rourke and 5Jezequel got creative and enjoyed their "Buddy Time" playing their own version of Cornhole using their classroom chairs. It was a fun and beautiful afternoon! ☀️




Family Night at the Dater Book Fair was a blast! 📚 Thank you to all of the families that showed up to support the school.
