Banner announcing that Chromebook Insurance Is Due

Parents of Ramsey Students Grades 5-12,

The Ramsey School District partners with Trafera to offer a specialized insurance plan that will provide Chromebook coverage for an affordable annual fee. Insurance is required for the privilege of using the Chromebook outside of the school buildings. Parents of all students in grades 5-12 must sign the Chromebook agreement before devices are issued or activated. The policy is effective from September 1, 2023 – August 31, 2024. The annual premium is $25.00 per student. Chromebooks are considered an integral learning tool and are a valuable piece of school property that must be handled with care. Intentional abuse is a serious offense and may be subject to additional fines and possible disciplinary action.

The insurance policy will cover up to 2 incidents of Accidental Damage to the Chromebook. After two incidents, parents will be charged a $50.00 deductible per incident.

As a Reminder

We no longer use Family ID for Chromebook Insurance. We are now using PaySchools Central to collect the Chromebook insurance fee. Most parents should be familiar with PaySchools Central as it is the same platform that the district leverages for parents to fund their student lunch accounts.

Please refer to the attached document for directions on how to sign in and pay for Chromebook Insurance using PaySchools Central.
