AP Environmental Science students worked on created “presidential campaigns” for a keystone species of their choice.
On digital or physical campaign posters, they had to create a slogan while also explaining the major role their species play in its ecosystem that would qualify it as a keystone species.
Why it matters: Students were able to showcase their creativity through this project while also transferring their knowledge of keystone species to a campaign poster.
This project-based learning experience is an important part of how students learn deeply.
By the numbers: In the spring of 2023, AP Environmental Science students outscored New Jersey and the rest of the world by 30% on the AP exam.
Fun, engaging learning experiences where students apply and transfer their understanding of new concepts are a crucial aspect of high academic achievement.
