What's happening: Two Ramsey High School students Francesca Muia and Lola Callahan-Santos, will be honored this evening at Glen Rock Borough Hall, for their work on their film, Breathe.
Why it matters: Created with three Glen Rock High School students, Breathe is a first-person short film about high schoolers fearing repercussions for calling 911 when a friend overdoses.
This initiative, a collaboration among local and county agencies in Bergen County, NJ, aims to promote the Good Samaritan Law and demonstrate life-saving behaviors for overdose situations.
Big impact: The Bergen County Juvenile Officer’s Association will honor the students’ work and present them with a Citizenship Award. In addition, a County Proclamation will be made by Assemblywoman Dana Walter as the initiative promotes New Jersey’s Good Samaritan Law and May as Mental Health Awareness Month. 🏆
