Ramsey High School senior, Simon Jiang, has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning Semi-Finalist status in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. This honor places Simon among the top 1% of high school students nationwide, recognizing his outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.
To achieve this status, Simon scored exceptionally well on the PSAT, which serves as the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship.
As a Semi-Finalist, he is now eligible to advance to Finalist status, a competitive process that involves submitting a detailed scholarship application.
Finalists will have the opportunity to compete for National Merit Scholarships and various corporate-sponsored awards.
Simon’s academic excellence is a testament to his dedication and hard work.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is highly competitive, with fewer than 1% of U.S. high school seniors earning Semi-Finalist status each year.
In addition to his academic achievements, Simon was recognized last year for his musical talent. He earned seats in both the 2024 Bergen County High School Band and Chorus and the North Jersey Region Bands, showcasing his versatility and dedication across multiple disciplines.
Congratulations to Simon on this incredible academic achievement and his continued success!
