📣 What’s happening: RHS staff and Inclusion & Belonging Advisory Group members Mrs. Nicole Wohlrab and Mrs. Gina Altiero organized an Open Mic Session to celebrate Inclusive Schools Week.
🎤 Every voice matters! Held during lunch in the RHS Media Center, students and staff were invited to perform an original work (poem, short story, comedy routine, song), recite a poem or short story, share a personal reflection, showcase a piece of artwork, present with a friend or group, or listen and enjoy.
What they’re saying: “"Fifty individuals attended this exciting event, making it a memorable experience as students and staff shared a variety of pieces. Celebrating every voice in our community is essential, and the event was met with many positive comments and reflections." - Mrs. Altiero
"It was incredibly inspiring to hear students share their perspectives at the open mic event. The atmosphere of respect and camaraderie among participants made it a truly special experience. We hope to recreate this type of event in the future, as it provides a valuable platform for self-expression and connection within our community." -Mrs. Wohlrab
🎬What’s next: To continue celebrating Inclusive Schools Week at RHS, the Best Buddies Club is hosting a screening of the new film Out of My Mind during lunch today and tomorrow. 🍿
