Tuesday, September 3rd was our opening day of the 2024-2025 school year! Our halls were alive once again with the sounds of our returning and new students.
Students spent the first week of the new school year meeting their teachers, adjusting to new schedules and lockers, finding their way around the building, and getting accustomed to life as a Smith Middle School student!

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Margarita Diakos, a dedicated and inspirational educator at Ramsey High School, has been honored as the Bergen County Teacher of the Year! She will serve in this role for the 2024-2025 school year. This is the first time a teacher from Ramsey has been recognized with this prestigious award.

Smith School celebrates and honors Juneteenth- a day which commemorates June 19, 1865 . In honor of the day, 7th grade Social Studies students in Mr. Abma's class conducted research on the history of Juneteenth and why it is an important date in our nation's history. Juneteenth is the day that Union forces during the American Civil War marched into Galveston, Texas and announced that the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was passed and that the enslaved people were now free. After researching and learning about the importance of the date, each student created a quilt square symbolizing Juneteenth. What an amazing and creative way to celebrate history!

Smith School's 2024 Charity Challenge Staff VS Student Basketball Game will be held on Thursday, June 13th! Watch our faculty members take on 8th graders in a battle to raise money for Relay For Life. Come enjoy the game, participate in Halftime Contests, and enjoy snacks & beverages for sale for this great cause! Tickets are being sold today & tomorrow during lunch, $3 for students, $5 for adults. Don't miss out!

Smith School's 2024 Charity Challenge was held on this beautiful Friday afternoon! Students across grade levels competed in a series of games & challenges all with the goal of fundraising for Relay for Life. After hours of trivia, games, and dunk tanks- the GOLD TEAM were named champions💙💛🌟
Ended our day at Smith School with a special visit from the Ram Jams on their district tour! What a phenomenal group of young vocalists 🎼🎤🎶
