All week long, Tisdale students and staff celebrated our planet! Special events included read alouds, assemblies, and parent-led activities in our courtyard.

One fun thing: All week, every class visited Tisdale’s courtyard and learned about the importance of bees and how they help the Earth!

  • We learned that small things like bees can make a big difference in our world.

  • Students learned that they to, can make a big difference and started right away by creating a pollinator wildflower garden in Tisdale's Courtyard!

  • Classes also made wildflower seed packets to bring home to plant and got to explore bees with hands-on activities.

Why it matters:
Earth Day is a special day celebrated every year on April 22nd. It’s a time for people around the world to think about our planet and how we can take care of it. We celebrate Earth Day to remind ourselves to protect the environment, including our air, water, and land. It’s important to keep our planet clean and safe for all living things, like animals and plants!

Personal Connection: There are so many ways to help the Earth!

  • 🌳Plant Trees: Trees help clean the air and provide homes for animals.

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: This means using less, finding new uses for things, and recycling materials like paper and plastic.

  • 🗑Clean Up: Picking up trash in our community helps keep the environment clean.

  • 🚰Save Water and Energy: Turning off the tap while brushing teeth or switching off lights when not in use helps save resources.

Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn about caring for our planet. Small actions can make a big difference in keeping our Earth healthy and beautiful!
