About the Program

Ramsey Boys Golf is a competitive program and is part of the Big North Patriot Division, and competes in North 1 Group 1 NJ State Sectional. The schedule consists of 15-20 varsity 9-hole matches against local high schools, League, County, and State 18-hole tournaments, and several invitational 18-hole tournaments. The format is typically play 6, count 4 in 9-hole matches, and play 5, count 4 for most 18-hole tournaments. A scoring system for player and team scores is implemented to keep score on the course, and is utilized to qualify for county and state tournaments.

While there is a rich history of fielding competitive teams that have brought home a number of league, county, and state championships, the focus of the program is on fostering a love for the game of golf, a respect for the rules, and developing the mental toughness perform under pressure. During the season, major mechanics changes are not advisable, but the mental approach to the game is always looked to be advanced. This, along with the camaraderie developed between players, coaches, and even opponents makes for a memorable, rewarding experience for all.
